With the opening of the new Brimbank Wellness and Aquatic Centre, there is a missed opportunity in the precinct where an outdoor pool once was.
Therefore, a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will invest $10 million towards Stage 2 of the project, delivering a brand new outdoor pool for the community to enjoy over the summer months.
An outdoor pool is a must have for the community, especially for local families who previously spent their summers at the St Albans Leisure Centre pool before its closure.
Leader of the Liberal Party, Matt Guy, said the new pool at Brimbank Wellness and Aquatic Centre will give residents in the western suburbs a world-class fitness facility that will be their local.
“We are listening to our local communities and only a Liberals and Nationals Government I lead will deliver for them,” Mr Guy said.
Shadow Minister for Sport, Cindy McLeish, said the Liberals and Nationals will see this commitment become a reality.
“The western suburbs are growing rapidly and it’s essential we provide vital community infrastructure for what is a very fit and active local community.”
Liberal Candidate for St Albans, Maria Kerr, said she was proud to announce the addition of the outdoor pool for her local community.
“The outdoor pool that was previously at St Albans Leisure Centre was a great spot for the local kids and families to enjoy over summer, and we want that back for the summers to come.”
“Only a Liberals and Nationals Government will deliver this important community asset for the western suburbs, unlike Labor who has snubbed Melbourne’s west and left it to fend for itself.”
