A man has been arrested following an investigation into a murder in Sydney’s Inner West earlier this year under Strike Force Dears.
About 3.40pm on Saturday 29 July 2023, emergency services were called to Donnelly Street in Balmain following reports of an assault.
On arrival, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command found a 29-year-old man suffering significant injuries to his head and torso.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he died a short time later.
He has since been identified as Dejan ‘Danny’ Radulovic.
Police have been told Danny Radulovic was injured during an altercation with two men before the pair allegedly fled the scene in a white jeep.
The vehicle was found burnt out on Preston Avenue in Five Dock a short time later with a firearm inside.
A post-mortem examination was conducted, revealing Radulovic had suffered a gunshot wound.
Local detectives and State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Dears to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
To date, one man has been charged and remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, about 7.15am today (Tuesday 17 October 2023), Homicide Squad detectives executed a search warrant an address in Austral where they arrested a 19-year-old man.
The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he is expected to be charged with murder.
Investigations under Strike Force Dears are continuing.
