Man assaulted at Parramatta, NSW

A police operation is underway after a man was assaulted and a firearm discharged at a home unit in Parramatta this morning.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called to a residential building in George Street about 2am today (Thursday 29 October 2020), following reports a shot had been fired.

A 48-year-old man was found in a home unit suffering a suspected broken nose.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established at the unit and an investigation commenced.

Following inquiries, a police operation has closed George Street between Purchase and Alfred streets, Parramatta. George Street is expected to be closed for several hours.
