Man charged after cannabis set up located- Lake lllawarra

A man has been charged, after police allegedly located a cannabis set up in a home, South of Wollongong.

About 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday 5 December 2023), officers from Lake Illawarra Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Auburn Parade, Cringila.

Police allegedly located a cannabis set-up within the premises, which was seized, alongside other prohibited drugs and weapons.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Oak Flats Police Station where he was charged with six offences including:

– enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose,

– enhanced indoor cultivate prohibited plant-expose child,

– possess unauthorized pistol,

– use, consume, divert etc electricity unless authorised

– alter or add to electricity installation for metering

– and possess prohibited drug.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 20 December 2023.

The investigation is ongoing.
