A man will face court today charged after several firearms were allegedly seized during the search of a home in the Hunter Valley yesterday.
About 9am yesterday (Thursday 4 September 2025), police from the Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team attended a home on Palace Street, Denman.
At the home, police served a Firearms and Weapons Prohibition Order on a 33-year-old man at the premises.
During a subsequent search of the home, police allegedly located and seized several firearms, parts, and ammunition, including a home-made handgun and four gel blaster firearms.
The man was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station where he was charged with:
- Possess >3 unregistered firearms, 1 is prohibited/pistol
- Acquire firearm part without authority to do so
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Acquire pistol part without authority to do so, and
- Attempt to manufacture pistol without licence/permit.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Friday 5 September 2025).
