Man charged with possess child abuse material – Campbelltown

A man has been charged after child abuse material was allegedly found during a search of a home in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

In August 2023, detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the possession of child abuse material in the local area.

Around 7.30am on Friday 8 September 2023, police executed a search warrant at a home on Sturt Street, Campbelltown.

During the search, officers seized a number of electronic devices, cannabis, and a child-like sex doll.

The electronic devices underwent digital forensic analysis, with police allegedly locating indecent files stored on the devices.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 50-year-old man at the Sturt Street home around 9.30am on Wednesday 13 December 2023.

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with three counts of possess child abuse material, two counts of person possess bestiality material and possess prohibited drugs.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Campbelltown Local Court that same day, where he was officially refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 7 February 2024.
