Man dies after house fire in Ambarvale

Inquiries are continuing into the cause of a fire after a man died in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

Emergency services were called to a home on Varden Way, Ambarvale, about 10.20pm (Tuesday 26 April 2022), after reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and forced their way into the rear of the house where they found a man unconscious.

He was moved outside and CPR commenced; however, he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be the sole resident, aged in his 30s.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
