Man Dies After Single- Vehicle Crash – West Bathurst

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s central tablelands overnight.

About 9.50pm on Sunday 28 April 2024, emergency services were called to the intersection of Rocket and Larson Street, West Bathurst, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached Chifley Police District arrived to find a Holden hatchback had left the roadway and crashed into a telegraph pole.

The driver of the car – a 25-year-old man – was trapped before being released by Police Rescue and State Emergency Service.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A 19-year-old passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Bathurst Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
