Man dies after two vehicle crash – Cataract

A man has died following a two-vehicle crash in the Illawarra.

About 1.30pm today, emergency services were called to Mount Keira Road Cataract, about 7km north-east of Wollongong to reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District and Traffic and Highway Patrol responded, to find a sedan and van had collided at the intersection of Mount Keira Rd and Picton road.

The male driver of the sedan died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

NSW Ambulance Helicopter responded, landing on Picton Road.

The male driver of the van suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to St George Hospital, in a stable condition.
