A man has died while swimming in a river at Windsor this evening.
Emergency services responded to reports that a man aged 51, had been retrieved from the water unconscious at River Beach Windsor, about 7.50pm (Monday 7 December 2020).
A friend and members of the public assisted, attempting to resuscitate the man before NSW Ambulance paramedics and police arrived and continued CPR. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.
Officers attached to the Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and have commenced inquiries.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
