Man drowns in state’s North

A man has died after being pulled from the water in the state’s north yesterday.

About 4.15pm (Sunday 21 May 2023), emergency services were called to Boulders Beach between Lennox and Skennars Head in Northern NSW, following reports of two men in distress in the water.

Two men – aged 34 and 57 – were pulled from the water by members of the public.

Officers from Richmond Police District commenced CPR on the 57-year-old man before NSW Ambulance paramedics continued treatment; however, he died at the scene.

The 34-year-old man was not injured.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
