Man extradited over serious offences

A Victorian man has been extradited from South Australia charged with persistently contravening a court order and stalking-related offences.

The 57-year-old, from Portland, was arrested in Port Adelaide on Tuesday 17 May with the assistance of South Australia Police.

It follows an extensive investigation by Victoria Police detectives.

The man has been charged with a number of offences including contravening a court order, using a telecommunications device to menace and stalking.

It’s alleged the offending occurred between May and July 2021.

The man appeared before Port Adelaide Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 May where Victoria Police detectives successfully applied to have him extradited.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 19 May.
