Man in court over public place shooting in Ingleburn

A man will face court later today after a public place shooting at Ingleburn.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Saturday 15 August 2020), police were called to Harper Way at Ingleburn in relation to reports of gunshots heard in the area.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation. A crime scene was established.

Following inquiries, police obtained a search warrant on a house in Harper Way.

During the execution of that search warrant, officers seized live and spent ammunition throughout the premises, along with a rifle magazine and an ammunition belt.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property, and possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Bail Court later today (Sunday 16 August 2020).
