Man injured during home invasion at Albury, NSW

An investigation is underway after a man was assaulted during a home invasion at Albury overnight.

Police have been told a 37-year-old man was visiting a home on Banks Street, North Albury, when the front door was forced open about 10.40pm (Monday 9 November 2020), and he was confronted by two men carrying knives and swords.

The man was allegedly assaulted by the men, before they fled the scene.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene for lacerations to his head and arm, before being taken to Albury Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

Detectives have commenced an investigation and would like to speak to anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity or saw a silver car in the area around the time of the incident.
