Man shot in chest; investigation underway in Sefton

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after being shot in Sefton overnight.

About 11.45pm (Friday 2 October 2020), emergency services were called to Anderson Lane, near Helen Street, after reports a man had been shot.

On arrival officers found a 19-year-old man suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and leg.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains critical.

A white hatchback was seen leaving the area soon after the shooting. Police would like to speak with the driver of that car, or anyone who may have information that could assist.
