Marketing support to encourage stay in Perth this Spring

  • Next stage of Stay and Play campaign launched
  • Marketing campaign to promote Perth hotels and events
  • Developed by McGowan Government, through Tourism WA, together with Destination Perth
  • Western Australians are being encouraged to make the most of a hotel stay in the city, in the latest Stay and Play marketing campaign, which will run for four weeks.

The Ritz-Carlton, the Hougoumont Hotel and the Colony at Mandoon Estate are among more than 35 participating hotels that will be offering some great packages that can be booked from now until December 31, 2021 and redeemed until January 31, 2022.

Events to inspire a Perth staycation will be the feature of the marketing campaign, including performances by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Opera, West Australian Ballet and Black Swan State Theatre Company.

Targeted at people living in Perth as well as regional centres, the promotion will include radio, social media, print and digital advertising as well as a Stay and Play lift out in The West Australian on Saturday, September 25.

It is the latest in a series of campaigns to build on visitor numbers in the city and surrounds to boost tourism businesses. Previous campaigns have generated more than 7,000 room nights for Perth hotels.

More information about the campaign is available on the Destination Perth website at www.destinationperth.com.au/stayandplay

As stated by Tourism Minister David Templeman:

“The Stay and Play campaign is a fantastic reminder of the benefits of taking a staycation as well as making the most of nearby attractions and entertainment like theatre, live music and sporting events.

“I’m pleased to be working together with Destination Perth to promote this important initiative, which will encourage people to visit destinations and help boost the local economy.

“I encourage everyone to jump on-board and get behind our tourism operators and event holders, while creating lasting memories.”
