Meditation Australia President Returns to Northern Rivers

Meditation Australia

Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – Current Meditation Australia president, Asher Packman, has recently returned to the Northern Rivers, taking up residence in Bangalow at the beginning of the year.

Meditation Australia (MA) is the industry peak body representing meditation and meditation teachers in Australia and New Zealand. It is a registered not-for-profit association supporting professional education and leadership that fosters connection and community through the practice of meditation.

Asher is the longest-serving president of MA, having accepted the position over five years ago. He was last living locally in 2014 prior to the birth of his son. While growing up substantially in Melbourne, he has spent many years in the region since his youth.

Having now returned indefinitely, and recently witnessing the devastating floods, Asher plans to be an active participant in the community. He will be teaching and speaking locally in his role with MA, as well as operating The Fifth Direction, a global mythopoetic community he founded in 2017 based on restorative practices such as meditation, storytelling and poetry.

Meditation Australia will be presenting the second national Australian Meditation Conference (AMC) in August this year.
