Zonta Achievement Award for a Young Indigenous Woman
The Award recognises and celebrates the achievements of young women of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, currently enrolled in Year 12 or the TAFE equivalent. The criteria for the school nomination are for a young Indigenous woman who has made a marked contribution to the life of her school and community through:
• service to her school or wider community;
• leadership within her school or wider community; and,
• determination to successfully complete her secondary education.
The applicant is required to:
• outline her post HSC career goals;
• explain the importance of her Indigenous heritage;
• describe the importance of an influential person in her life, particularly related to her career goals; and,
• reflect upon a current issue impacting upon the lives of young Indigenous women and how she may facilitate positive change.
