Break out the popcorn and choc-tops and enjoy a communal movie with your sporting club or community group.
Corangamite Shire Council’s mobile cinema is a great way to host a fun event, strengthen community connections and raise funds.
Economic Development and Events Officer Tammy Young said the mobile cinema was available between November 2022 and March 2023.
“Putting on a movie is a great opportunity to raise funds for your sporting club, charity or any other cause, or to build social connections in our towns and farming communities.
“Community groups are welcome to apply. There are limited screenings available and community groups will need to purchase the DVD they are showing.
“Council can arrange the booking of the film on behalf of your community group.
In collaboration with the Corangamite Film Society, Council can arrange volunteers to take the mobile cinema equipment to your venue and show the movie of your choice, indoors or outdoors.
Ms Young said screenings were subject to the availability of volunteers.
“There is a small fee to cover the screening rights that need to be paid to the distributor. Depending on the movie that can range from $150 – $350.
“Council arranges the booking and there is no other cost because the volunteers donate their time to support your group.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until Monday October 31.
