Over the coming months there’ll be some changes to the entries and footpath access to Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.
The Monash Medical Centre Emergency Department and Traffic Improvement Project involves improving traffic flow and easing congestion around the emergency department, making it safer for patients, visitors and more accessible for ambulances.
From Tuesday, 19 May construction will begin on a new entry to the emergency department of the hospital that requires upgrade works along Clayton Road, including the closure of the pedestrian footpath between Mary Street and Clayton Road.
Pedestrians will now need to either travel via a detour down Mary Street (south) or north via a signed route through the hospital.
At times Clayton Road (southbound) will be reduced to one lane and traffic management and signage will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles through the works.
The hospital car park south of the current footpath between Mary Street and Clayton Road will be occupied by works vehicles during the works.
The works are expected to finish by Friday, 21 August 2020 and construction hours are 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
