Mop up after milk tanker tips in Southern Region

Emergency services are mopping up after a truck carrying 48,000 litres of milk crashed in the state’s south last night.

The B-double refrigerated milk tanker was travelling north on Freyers Road, near Corowa, when it left the roadway about 10.15pm (Friday 14 August), and slid into a table drain, spilling 12,000 litres of milk.

The driver – a 63-year-old-man – wasn’t injured in the crash.

Officers attached to the Murray River Police District attended the scene and commenced inquiries.

A vehicle defect notice was issued for the truck and two trailers.
