More mountain bike trails on cards for Collie

  • Tender released for 12km of mountain bike trails in Arklow
  • The Arklow trails network is part of the $10 million Collie Adventure Trail initiative
  • Collie’s extensive mountain bike network is continuing to grow, with the release of a tender for a further 12km to be constructed in 2020.

This builds on the recently completed Arklow Adaptive Trail, designed to allow mountain bike riders with a disability an opportunity to ride through the pristine Arklow Forest.

The additional 12km will bring the total length of new and upgraded mountain bike trails in Arklow to almost 30km, making it an attraction for national and international cyclists, and tourists.

The new trail is part of the McGowan Government’s $10 million initiative to create and maintain more than 180km of high-quality mountain bike and bushwalking trails in Collie and Dwellingup.

This includes the week-long Job-Ready Trail Construction Training course designed to equip locals with the skills to find a job in the local trails industry.
