Motorcyclist critical after crash at Jamberoo, NSW

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition following a crash in the Illawarra region today.

Just before 2pm (Monday 2 November 2020), emergency services were called to Jamberoo Road, near Swamp Road, Jamberoo, after a motorcycle and Land Rover Discovery collided head-on.

The rider, a 21-year-old man, sustained leg, chest and head injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 65-year-old man, was not injured. He returned a negative breath test at the scene and was taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District attended and were assisted by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.
