Multiple property crime chargesin Brisbane & Ipswich

Detectives from Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two men in relation to a number of alleged property crime offences across Brisbane’s inner suburbs and Ipswich.

Police will allege the two men stole or attempted to steal vehicles, licence plates and personal items from underground carparks in residential and commercial buildings in South Brisbane, Woolloongabba, East Brisbane, Morningside, Woodend, Hamilton and Bulimba across a two-week period.

It will be further alleged the 33-year-old man also stole fuel from a service station.

The two men were arrested at a licenced premises on Annerley Road, Woolloongabba on Thursday July 21, following a joint operation supported by Tactical Crime Squad crews from Upper Mount Gravatt, Bayside, Inala, Fortitude Valley and Boondall.

A 33-year-old Kedron man was charged with more than 40 offences, including stealing, enter premises, receiving tainted property, unauthorised use of a motor veicle, fraud, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possess tainted property, disqualified driving and evasion.

A 28-year-old Berserker man was charged with more than 20 offences, including stealing, enter premises, fraud, unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and obstruct police.

Both men appeared before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday July 22 and remanded in custody to appear again on August 17.
