Mum’s around world are going bananas for this little invention

And that’s not just because their bubs are now eating all their food at mealtimes….

There haven’t been many new life changing products to market for some time now. And typically, they serve one purpose or one person only! It is however right now that one product has achieved both ease of mind and comfort for two individuals at meal time; Mummy and bub!

This amazing product, “The Footsi”, is a design patented, height adjustable and portable footrest for high chairs. The reason it is having such a positive impact on Mumlife is its ability of allowing bubs and toddlers the chance to concentrate while eating in their highchair. Having a footrest on a highchair (that bubs can actually reach and is adjustable for their height) allows bubs to concentrate more on the task at hand “eating” and less on trying to constantly get comfortable. The adjustable element of the footrest means that it’s suitable for all ages of bubs that use a highchair.

“Think about it this way, imagine yourself sitting on a barstool, eating dinner, with nowhere to put your feet. Your legs and feet are literally dangling there and the barstool is too high for your feet to reach the ground. It would be quite uncomfortable, don’t you agree? This is exactly how babies feel when they don’t have appropriate foot and leg support in their highchair” says Melina Howe, inventor of the Footsi.

No more dangling legs.

With over 10,000 customers globally since launching the business just over 12 months ago, Mel says “I created this product with the intention of making mealtimes easier at home for my daughter and obviously for myself. But it seems I wasn’t the only Mum that had a need for this. The level of support from Mum’s around the world for my product has been nothing short of amazing and I am so appreciative. To know that I am making a difference at mealtime one baby at a time is really rewarding”.

Melina’s product has been so popular that she is currently sold out of her limited edition prints and many of her solid colour footrests. Asked when she would be getting more in, she replied “we are working on the latest limited edition set of prints, which should be available to our customers by the end of June. We still have a number of colours available on hand and with various stockists however we won’t be able to do a restock on everything until end of June, therefore we may potentially run completely out of stock before our next delivery”.

The Footsi is suitable for a lot of highchairs that are sold globally, but predominantly fits well with the IKEA Antilop highchair, or similar. “Mum’s simply love the convenience and ease of use & cleaning associated with the IKEA Antilop highchair. Its one of the most popular highchairs on the market as its inexpensive and really easy to maintain, however it is missing a footrest.”

Benefits of the Footsi Include:

✅ Added security and comfort for your child while sitting

✅ Allows child to sit upright with stability

✅ Allows child’s feet to be positioned 90 degrees from their legs

✅ Encourages improved concentration on tasks while in high chair

✅ Allows for better hand to mouth co-ordination

✅ Adjustable straps that grow with your child

✅ Machine Washable and Easy Installation

The simple design of the Footsi means that Mum’s only need to stick a strap on to the back of the highchair, which has an adjustable buckle allowing for correct foot placement for bub. Then with two Velcro straps on each of the front corner of the Footsi that connect to the front highchair legs, the footrest is locked in position and can hold bub firmly and comfortably. “I made this product out of material and not something hard because I believe having a softer, cushion feel for the baby would allow for additional pleasures and comfort not usually afforded with a hard, fixed footrest on other highchairs”, says Melina when asked about the design of the footrest.

And it seems her customers agree. Well, you’ve heard it here and now this journo is going to put it to the test. You can check the Footsi out on www.pimpmyhighchair.com or on the Instagram page
