The statement can be attributed to Nicole’s brother, Ben, on behalf of the Cartwright family.
It’s hard to express in words what our family has been through since Nicole’s death.
The past 12 months have been unimaginably difficult, and we are still struggling to comprehend that she will never be coming home.
We grieve daily for Nicole and the life she never got to live.
We’d like to thank the community, friends and family for how supportive they have been. We are forever grateful and it’s clear she was loved by many.
Nicole would have turned 33 on Tuesday this week (1 October 2019). It was a heartbreaking reminder of the immense pain we feel on a day that should have been a celebration.
I know we can’t bring her back, but we don’t want any other family to go through the pain we have had to endure.
To the person who did this – you have cut short Nicole’s life, destroyed our family and shattered our hearts.
We believe someone in the community knows something, and to those people – we ask you to contact police and help detectives catch whoever killed my sister.
Please help us find justice for Nicole.
The family has requested the media continue to respect their privacy at this difficult time in their lives.
