NAB is backing Wagga Wagga with a new $2.9 million banking hub under construction to better back the town’s agricultural, manufacturing and exporting prowess.
NAB Retail Executive Matthew Leddy said the multi-million-dollar investment in Wagga Wagga is a sign of NAB’s confidence in the region.
“Wagga Wagga is more than a big country town, it’s a booming regional city, and a key destination of the Riverina,” Mr Leddy said.
“NAB’s multi-million-dollar investment in Wagga Wagga is a long-term commitment and our new banking hub will provide a bright, new space for us to serve our customers.”
More than 20 tradespeople are busily working away behind hoarding at 86 Bayliss St on a new financial centre for the community.
The space is set to become a banking hub for more than 40 bankers from across personal, business and agribusiness who’ll be servicing Wagga Wagga and the wider region.
With construction well advanced, the site is nearing completion and on track to open in mid-July.
Mr Leddy said NAB has been part of the Wagga Wagga community since 1862 and has seen the local economy continue to grow over recent years.
“Wagga is a well-known agribusiness hub and it’s quickly becoming a hot spot for first home buyers,” he said.
“With exciting major projects getting underway including the Inland Rail project and Riverina Intermodal Freight & Logistics Hub, you can see why the city is becoming a major drawcard and an investment destination.”
The Wagga Wagga hub brings NAB’s investments across regional NSW in the last 18 months to more than $18 million, with recent refurbishments completed or in progress across Orange, Bathurst, Armidale, Tamworth, Albury, Dubbo, Parkes, Inverell and Narrabri.
Upon completion, NAB’s existing branch at 72 Baylis St, and Business Banking Centre at 235 Baylis St will move to this central premise.
The hub will have an open plan teller service area, meeting rooms with video conferencing technology, self-service machines in a 24/7 accessible lobby and a digital banking education space.
