“Given the dire circumstances created by the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 National Road Safety Week (NRSW) Working Group has decided that it is in the best interests of the Australian community to postpone National Road Safety Week.” Peter Frazer, President of Safer Australian Roads and Highways said.
“The Week will now be held from 9th to 15th November, with the national launch in Sydney proposed for Sunday 8th November 2020.
“While postponing the Week was a very difficult decision, it was the judgement of the Principal Partners, jurisdictional bureaucracies along with leading organizational supporters, that this unprecedented action was required to protect our national and local communities.”
“The success of National Road Safety Week has been due to the tireless work that organisations across the nation undertake and we recognise the substantial work that has already been completed in preparation for this year’s event.”
“As such, and on behalf of the Principal Partners, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of all our great supporters, not just in promoting the Week, but by ensuring that the most vulnerable in their own communities are protected.” Mr Frazer said.
