National Volunteer Week 2023

National Volunteer Week 2023It’s National Volunteer Week, Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.

This year’s theme is The Change Makers, which summarises “our wonderful Council volunteers and Hawkesbury residents who generously offer their time to help others and make our community a better place,” the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Sarah McMahon said.

“We all know how much we rely on our Emergency Services volunteers in the Hawkesbury, as well as volunteers in so many community organisations.

“Thank you everyone in the Hawkesbury who volunteers in so many ways to make our community a great place to be,” Mayor McMahon said.

“Thank you also to our valued volunteers at Hawkesbury Bushcare and the Hawkesbury Community Nursery, Hawkesbury Library Service, the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery and the Hawkesbury Regional Museum, as well as those who manage our community facilities and assist in providing Council programs.”

The Hawkesbury is filled with many wonderful volunteer groups, this week we are celebrating some of the amazing volunteers in the Hawkesbury. See Council’s Facebook page as we celebrate our volunteers www.facebook.com/hawkesburycitycouncil
