A new Corangamite Shire service offering After Kindergarten and After School Care in Timboon is providing another child care option for working families.
The service is run by qualified and experienced educators and operates at the Timboon and District Kindergarten.
Manager Community Services Katie Hearn said the service had been offered to meet demand for child care in the area and would complement the existing service at Timboon Child Care Centre.
“There is a growing number of families in the Timboon area needing that flexibility in hours.
“They no longer require a full day of care, but a few hours in the afternoon.
“This new service supports parents of kindergarten and school-aged children to work full days and consistent hours,” Ms Hearn said.
She said the new service was also great for the children.
“They are cared for by professionals in a familiar and comfortable environment at Timboon Kindergarten.”
After Kindergarten Care is available from Monday to Friday from 2 pm to 5:30 pm. There is an extra session available on the Tuesday from 12 pm to 5:30 pm (after the Three Year Old Kindergarten session).
After School Care is available from Monday to Friday from 3:15 pm to 5:30 pm. School pick-up is available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The service is for children under eight years of age.
Ms Hearn said there were still places available.
