New Direction; Emergency Management Direction 2020, South Australia

The Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Thebarton Senior College Isolation) Direction 2020 commenced at 10.40 pm tonight, Thursday 6 August 2020

The Direction specifically applies to any persons, including students, employees or contractors who have been present on the site of the Thebarton Senior College on the;

  • 29 July 2020
  • 30 July 2020
  • 31 July 2020

The direction requires any one of these persons to reside and remain at their residential premises for 14 days commencing on the last day they were at the College.

The person must travel by the most direct route to their place of residence and remain isolated and segregated from other persons, except those that reside there. Unless they are advised by a medical practitioner that they must remain in a health or other facility, at which time they must follow all reasonable directions of the medical practitioner.

The person must take reasonable steps to ensure no other person enters the residence unless they usually live there, are also complying with a direction to isolate or are required to provide care and support to, or receive care and support from the person who this directions applies to.

  • The person may leave the premise for the following reasons;
  • Obtaining medical care or medical supplies;
  • Any other emergency situation; or
  • Any reason approved by the State Coordinator or his delegate.

The person must submit to a COVID-19 test if direction to do so and must not refuse. If they are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 they must immediately notify SA Health of those symptoms.

It is acknowledged that many restrictions still apply, but they are critical in dealing with the spread of COVID-19.
