A new modern health centre at Campbell Barracks opened today by Assistant Minister for Defence, the Hon Andrew Hastie MP will deliver high quality health care to Australian Defence Force (ADF) members posted to the Perth metropolitan area.
The new health centre is part of a national project to provide new and upgraded health facilities at Defence sites. The project is worth more than $250 million.
Assistant Minister Hastie said the health centre will enhance the delivery of health care to on-base and visiting ADF members in the Perth metropolitan area.
“The new health centre represents Defence’s significant investment in the wellbeing of our people to help them through all phases of their careers and ensure they are fit to fight, fit to work and fit for life,” Assistant Minister Hastie said.
“The health centre supports approximately 870 ADF personnel across the Perth metropolitan area and delivers integrated primary and mental health care, physiotherapy, dental and rehabilitation services, and a pharmacy.
“Defence is committed to providing treatment and rehabilitation services responsive to the changing needs of Defence personnel, which can vary from primary health care to complex interventions,” Assistant Minister Hastie said.
Staff at the centre comprise of 23 specialists including military members, public servants and contracted health professionals, providing contemporary health care services for both on-base and visiting ADF members in Campbell, Irwin and Leeuwin Barracks.
The new facility was completed in May 2021 at a cost of $17 million.
