New Jobs Boost Just Ticket For Melbourne’s West

  • Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade

Andrews Labor Government support has secured another jobs win for Victoria with ticket, tag and label manufacturer TMA Group launching a major new facility in Truganina today.

TMA has relocated its main ticket operations from New South Wales to Melbourne’s west, reinforcing Victoria’s standing as the country’s premier manufacturing and innovation state.

The new production, design and logistics centre at Truganina is expected to create 100 jobs by 2022.

TMA manufactures everything from tickets for the Australian Open and AFL Grand Final to airport luggage tags. The company also creates ticket apps, software and machinery for a range of industries across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.

TMA produces stock for companies including Ticketmaster, Ticketek, Qantas, Westfield, Coles and Australia Post and specialises in state-of-the-art security features such as holographic foils, trust seals and invisible fluorescent inks.

Setting up in Victoria has allowed TMA to take on new customers including a major contract with Woolworths and expand its product range, notably with the ZipBy technology platform – an app that allows customers to use secure car parks without printed tickets.

Victoria is a manufacturing leader with 13,000 firms employing more than 280,000 people across the sector.

The Labor Government is a major supporter of manufacturing, helping to create more than 7,000 jobs and generate more than $1.8 billion in private investment since November 2014.

The manufacturing sector continues to be a cornerstone of the Victorian economy, contributing more than $30 billion to Gross State Product annually and generating $19.6 billion in exports.

As stated by Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade Martin Pakula

“TMA is an Australian success story and now with the establishment of its new operations in Victoria, the company can be expected to continue to grow and provide more jobs for local people.”

“We’re backing manufacturing and innovation because that’s what grows jobs and expands markets.”

As stated by Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly

“This is a significant win for Melbourne’s west - a forward-thinking company seeing the opportunities that this region can offer and making the choice to become part of our community.”
