The new Kings Park Reserve Agricultural Pavilion in Seymour will offer local community groups and regional event holders a multi-purpose site equipped with modern facilities.
Council Mayor Rhonda Sanderson and Councillors opened the new site alongside Federal Member for Nicholls Damian Drum, the Kings Park Committee of Management and the Seymour Agricultural and Pastoral Society.
Two ageing pavilions were replaced by a single new building in nearly $1 million works funded by both Council and the Australian Government.
The large, new Kings Park Agricultural Pavilion will provide a modern facility with three open sides with a mix of indoor and outdoor areas.
Significant regional events such as the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo and the Seymour Show will have access to more space for activities which will benefit both exhibitors and patrons.
Other community groups like Seymour Riding Develops Abilities and Seymour Cutting Club will be able to use the facility for their events and the pavilion will be able to be used for a broad range of community activities.
Mitchell Shire Council contributed $487,000 for the project while Federal Government provided match funding through the Building Better Regions Fund.
