Locals can celebrate the opening of a new adventure playground at Logan Reserve this Saturday (August 20).

The upgrade to Stoneleigh Reserve Park includes a two-storey playground with high and low slide tunnels, additional swings, a play water pump and a basketball half-court.

The official opening of the new playground, in Stoneleigh Reserve Blvd, is from 11am to noon.

The event will feature complimentary light refreshments.

Councillor Jacob Heremaia said the new facilities would be a further boost to what already is a popular local park.

“Logan Reserve is one of the city’s fastest-growing suburbs and it is important that Council provides new and upgraded facilities that are needed by the local community,” Cr Heremaia said.

The upgrade was funded through the Division 8 Local Infrastructure Program.

Cr Heremaia said the design and colouring of the new playground complemented the nearby natural bushland area.

“Many families have chosen to live in this area and will definitely benefit from these well-designed improvements and upgrades to their local park,” Cr Heremaia said.

“With equipment for children of all ages, Stoneleigh Reserve Park is going to be well-used and a much-loved destination for locals and visitors to the area.”

Stoneleigh Reserve Park is at 13-25 Stoneleigh Reserve Blvd, Logan Reserve.
