New recreation facilities for Inverloch

Work will soon get underway on the construction of a multi-use cricket practice enclosure at Thompson Reserve in Inverloch.

This project represents Bass Coast Shire Council’s ongoing investment in sport and recreation facilities in Inverloch and will create a multi-use cricket practice facility.

Multi-use training facilities incorporating cricket practice nets are fast growing in popularity due to their flexible nature and capacity to accommodate a range of activities. They provide an essential facility for cricket practice but also seamlessly accommodate other training outside of cricket, such as kick-about space for soccer practice.

This exciting project will start in early July and is expected to be completed by mid-September, subject to contractor and supplier availability, weather and any COVID-19 impacts.

This $400,000 project is being funded with $250,000 from Council, $100,000 from Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Community Cricket Program and $25,000 each from the Inverloch Cricket Club, and the Inverloch Stars Soccer Club. Council acknowledges the significant contributions from both clubs.

These works will include the use of large plant and machinery and might be noisy at times. Council understands that these works may present an inconvenience to nearby residents, schools and businesses and appreciates their patience. The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
