A new COVID-19 mobile testing clinic will be open today (Tuesday 19 October) in New Norfolk to assist Southern Tasmania’s path out of lockdown.
The clinic will be open at the New Norfolk Rowing Club carpark, 5 Page Avenue, from 10am to 4pm today and tomorrow.
While many lockdown restrictions were lifted at 6pm on Monday, it is still vitally important people get tested if they show any symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of how mild they may be and regardless of whether they are vaccinated.
People in New Norfolk and the surrounding areas who have cold or flu-like symptoms should go to the mobile clinic where they can be tested without requiring an appointment.
Testing is also available in Southern Tasmania at:
- Cris Fitzpatrick Memorial Park Tottenham Road, Gagebrook. Open 9am to 6pm today, with no booking required.
- Macquarie Point in Hobart. Open until 5pm. To make a booking for this clinic, call the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738, or visit coronavirus.tas.gov.au.
Meanwhile, a vaccination clinic is also running at the New Norfolk District Hospital today and tomorrow from 9am to 5pm.
Other community clinics in Southern Tasmania this week are:
- Princes Wharf No. 1 (PW1), Hobart, 19 October, 9am to 5pm.
- Your Church, Moonah, 19-23 October, 9am to 5pm.
- Brighton Civic Centre, Bridgewater, 19 October 9am to 5pm.
- Blundstone Arena, 21-22 October, 9am to 5pm.
All clinics will take walk-in and booked appointments.
Our greatest defence against COVID-19 is vaccination, and the more people vaccinated, the better the chances are we can avoid having to lock down in the future.
