New Transport Accident Commission CEO Appointed

The Andrews Labor Government has appointed respected leader Tracey Slatter as Chief Executive Officer of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC Danny Pearson said Ms Slatter would bring a wealth of experience to the role, having served as CEO of Barwon Water for the past six years and prior to that, as CEO at the City of Port Phillip.

Ms Slatter also worked as Head of Claims at the TAC for four years and is well known in the social insurance sector.

In addition to her executive role, Ms Slatter serves on the boards of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria) and Water Services Association of Australia and is Deputy Chair of the Barwon Regional Partnership.

Ms Slatter holds postgraduate qualifications in business leadership and a Masters in Commerce, is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ms Slatter will start her role on 3 July, taking over from Joe Calafiore who has provided outstanding leadership and commitment to the TAC over an eight-year term as CEO.

Appointed to the role in 2015, Mr Calafiore has worked tirelessly to promote road safety and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030.
