New wave of art for iconic pavilion

Works from Artbank’s collection will feature in the renovation of the iconic Bather’s Pavilion in Mosman, overlooking Sydney Harbour.

Artbank consultant Courtney Kidd worked closely with interior designer Rachel Luchetti and co-owners of the Bathers Pavilion, Ian and Maryanne Pageant, to select works to complement the 1920s architecture of the pavilion.

Amongst the artworks chosen for the space included Jeffery Smart’s The Overpass and John Kelly’s Two heads and a sky.

‘The mixture of paintings and sculptures are playful yet thoughtful while capturing the essence of the unique space,” said Courtney Kidd.

‘I’m so glad we were able to showcase these talented Australian artists in such an iconic building. To be part of this renovation is to be part of history and Artbank is proud to have played such a key role.”

Artbank has one of the largest and most significant collections of Australian art in the world.

A unique Government initiative, it was established to support artists and give people an affordable opportunity to enjoy Australian art. Organisations and individuals can choose from an extensive range of art and lease it for an extended amount of time.
