No access to William Maker from NDR

From Monday, there will be no access to to the Northern Distributor Road from William Maker Drive as the next stage of the multi-million roundabout is completed.

The new $5 million roundabout on the Northern Distributor Road at William Maker Drive is taking shape and drivers are urged to be aware of traffic changes and possible delays in the area.

Until now, residents have been able to turn left on to the Distributor from William Maker Drive, however from Monday residents will need to access the Distributor from the Telopea Way lights.

The changes are expected to be in place for the next few weeks, weather permitting.

Once completed, the roundabout will be one of Orange’s biggest, on the scale of the by-pass/Molong Road roundabout, with two lanes of traffic in and out.

The project includes a re-alignment of the northern end of Hill St to join the southern leg of the roundabout.

It’s expected traffic flow improvements will lead to a significant reduction in current waiting times for Hill Street traffic entering the bypass.

The work, which is being completed by local firm Hamcon Civil, is on track to be completed in October.
