Recognising the immense contribution community treasurers make, nominations for the 2019 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards are now open.
Hundreds of thousands of community groups in Australia rely on the unsung and often unpaid labour of their treasurer. Responsible for the financial wellbeing of their organisation, not-for-profit treasurers’ often go above and beyond to make sure ends meet.
Each year, the Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards provide an opportunity for the community to show appreciation for these efforts.
Julienne Price, Head of Not-for-Profit Sector Banking, Commonwealth Bank said: “Not-for-Profit organisations are under constant pressure to evolve and innovate in order to respond to a range of opportunities and threats. While innovation across the sector has very much become the norm, balancing this against financial strategic and operational considerations is often the responsibility of the treasurer – the person behind the scenes balancing the books and keeping the organisation healthy and sustainable.
“These awards have been and continue to be an excellent way community groups around Australia can publicly thank and recognise the effort treasurers make to their community groups as well as to the wider community.”
The annual Not-for-Profit Treasurer Awards are held in conjunction with ‘Our Community’, Australia’s Centre of Excellence for the nation’s 600,000 not-for-profits and schools. This is the fifth year Commonwealth Bank and Our Community have partnered to host these awards.

Nominations for the 2019 Awards are open until 11.00am (AEST) Friday, 26 July 2019. The winners of the Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards are announced at a gala event held during Not-for-Profit Finance Week.
