Nominations for 2022 Australian Training Awards open today

The Australian Training Awards highlight outstanding individuals, businesses and registered training organisations who demonstrate best practice and innovation in the nation’s critical vocational education and training sector.

They give us a chance to recognise the significant achievements of our apprentices, trainees, teachers, practitioners, employers and registered training providers.

This year’s awards will be hosted in Adelaide on Friday 18 November 2022.

For the first time a new ‘Innovation in VET Award’ will be on offer. Individuals, businesses and registered training organisations can nominate directly for the following categories:

  • Outstanding Achievement in the VET and Skills Sector Award

  • Innovation in VET Award

  • Australian Apprenticeships-Employer Award

  • School Pathways to VET Award

  • Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice Award

Finalists from these categories will join state and territory training award winners to compete on the big night for a national award title.

All award finalists, including businesses and registered training organisations, have the opportunity to join the exclusive Australian VET Alumni. The Alumni are a community of high achieving VET graduates, leaders and practitioners, businesses, schools and training providers committed to sharing their story of success in the sector.

Circular Head Christian School in North-West Tasmania joined the Alumni after winning the School Pathways to VET Award at the Australian Training Awards in 2019. Ms Nokore Towsend, a school VET teacher, said winning the award was a tremendous honour for her school.

“It really recognised the work we had been doing with our cohort…and confirmed everything we were doing was on the right track.”

2019 School Pathways to VET Award winner Circular Head Christian School, was nominated through direct entry to the Australian Training Awards website.
