Nominations open for the Wyndham Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards

Nominations for the 2024 Wyndham Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards will open from 1 – 31 October.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre encouraged residents to get involved by submitting a nomination.

“These awards recognise the service and outstanding contributions of Wyndham City residents who help make Wyndham a better place.”

“This could include areas such as education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, art, the environment and others.”

“We’ve all met someone who goes above and beyond to serve our community, whether it be in our workplace, local community group or sporting club.”

“Working behind the scenes to help others, often these people are the very last ones to put themselves forward and that’s why your nomination is so important. These awards are a terrific way for us to say thank you.”

“This recognition can also make a big difference to their work, particularly in supporting the growth and advancement of our young residents with the Young Citizen of the Year award,” Cr McIntyre said.

Young Citizen of the Year is open to residents aged 16 – 25 years, with Citizen of the Year open to ages 26 and above.

It’s easy to nominate – simply visit www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/citizenawards and complete the online form.

Nominations will be assessed by an independent judging panel, with the winners announced in early 2024.
