The 2020-21 NSW Budget delivers major investment in a wide range of areas for the Hunter and the Central Coast.
Key highlights from the Budget include:
Central Coast:
- $111.1 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $200 million project) for the Wyong Hospital Redevelopment
- $39.2 million in 2020-21 to continue construction for widening the Pacific Highway to four lanes between Parsons Road and Ourimbah Street at Lisarow
- $15.0 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $38 million project) to build the new Porters Creek Public School
- $8.3 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $39.6 million project) for the Central Coast Medical Schools and Central Coast Research Institute (third party funding contribution)
- $3.2 million in 2020-21 for the Woy Woy Town Centre Wharf Redevelopment Project
- $800,000 in 2020-21 (as part of a $2.9 million project) to deliver new and upgraded quality social and affordable housing for Aboriginal communities in Killarney Vale
- $400,000 for the Central Coast Youth Collective – Personal Development Programming for Young People, Families and Community
- $300,000 for the Terrigal BMX Facility Upgrade.
Hunter:
- $220.3 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $470 million project) for the New Maitland Hospital
- $21.7 million in 2020-21 to continue planning for the Pacific Motorway (M1) extension to Raymond Terrace and Hexham Straight (State and Federal funded)
- $20 million in 2020-21 to continue planning for Stage 5 of the Newcastle Inner City Bypass between Rankin Park and Jesmond and continue construction of early work (State and Federal funded)
- $18 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $30 million project) for the New Maitland Hospital car park
- $16.0 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $780 million project) for the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct
- $10.4 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $13 million project) to assist MidCoast Council safeguard local water supply against drought
- $8.5 million in 2020-21 to continue planning for the Muswellbrook and Singleton bypasses on the New England Highway (State and Federal funded)
- $7.3 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $40 million project) for the completion of the Manning Base Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1
- $6 million in 2020-21 to continue the upgrade of Nelson Bay Road
- $5.8 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $7.2 million project) to deliver new and upgraded quality social and affordable housing for Aboriginal communities in Wallsend, Taree, Woodberry, Toronto and Forster
- $4.7 million in 2020-21 (as part of an $18.9 million project) for Water Security for Economic Development in the Upper Hunter region
- $4 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $7.5 million project) for the Fernleigh Awabakal shared pathway
- $3 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $6.6 million project) for upgrades at Cessnock Airport
- $2.6 million in 2020-21 (as part of an $18 million project) for the completion of the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Stages 2 and 3
- $1.5 million in 2020-21 (as part of a $100 million project) for the commencement of the Manning Base Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2
- $700,000 in 2020-21 for the upgrade of intersections of the Pacific Highway (City Rd) with Northcott Dr and Kahibah Rd, Highfields
- $500,000 in 2020-21 for construction of the replacement of Barrington Bridge on Thunderbolts Way over Barrington Rivera at Barrington.
