NSW police appeal after carjacking at Seven Hills

Police are appealing for public assistance after a carjacking in Sydney’s north-west yesterday.

About 3.00pm (Tuesday 26 January 2021), officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command responded to reports of a carjacking at Seven Hills.

Police were told a man was sitting in his vehicle in Rowley Street, opposite a shopping centre, when he was approached by another man.

The man was told to get out of his car, which he refused to do. The other man then allegedly produced a knife, before punching the man in the face repeatedly.

The man was dragged from the vehicle, a red BMW convertible, registration number DJH31L, which was driven away by the other man. The injured man was taken to Blacktown Hospital for treatment on a facial laceration.

As investigations continue, detectives would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 20 to 25, tall build with long hair, tied or pulled back. He was wearing shorts and possibly a black top.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Blacktown Police or Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
