NSW police appeal after highway robbery

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was robbed while working on his broken-down car in Sydney’s north west.

During the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 4 August 2020), a 31-year-old man was traveling east on the M7 Motorway at Quakers Hill when his BMW sedan broke down and he pulled into the break-down lane near the Sunnyholt Road exit.

Police have been told he was working on the car with another man, when they were approached by an unknown man about 5.30am.

The unknown man threatened the driver with a knife and demanded money, before stealing his wallet and mobile phone and leaving in a white coloured four-wheel drive.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.

As part of their investigations, detectives are appealing for assistance to identify the man and vehicle involved.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been driving eastbound on the M7 Motorway between Quakers Hill Parkway and Sunnyholt Road, Quakers Hill, about 5.30am today or has dash-cam footage of the incident, to come forward.
