NSW police appeal for information after armed robbery at Bungendore

Police are appealing for information after a woman was threatened with a knife during a robbery at a shop in the state’s Queanbeyan Region yesterday.

Officers have been told that about 5:05pm (Monday 20 January 2020), a man walked into the shop on Gibraltar Street, Bungendore, and threatened a 75-year-old female employee with the knife.

After a short struggle with the woman, the man grabbed the cash register and ran from the store, before driving away in a utility. The woman was not injured.

Officers from Monaro Police District attended, established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A short time later, the vehicle was seen on the Kings Highway at Queanbeyan and a pursuit was initiated.

Police terminated the pursuit and the vehicle was last seen driving into the Australian Capital Territory.

The vehicle is described as a silver single-cab 4WD utility with a black metal tray, allegedly with stolen New South Wales registration plates CU-41-CL.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time, including motorists who were travelling on the Kings Highway towards Queanbeyan about 5.20pm and may have dash cam footage, to contact Bungendore Police Station on
