NSW police arrest man for robbery after public appeal at Seven Hills

A man will face court today after he was arrested for the alleged armed robbery of a fast food restaurant in Sydney’s west.

About 2.50pm on Saturday (18 January 2020), a man, riding a pushbike, entered a fast food restaurant on Best Road, Seven Hills.

Allegedly armed with a rubber mallet, the man jumped the counter and demanded staff open the registers before placing the cash in a plastic bag.

The man then fled the scene on his push bike.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the robbery.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a unit on Bennett Road, South Granville at about 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 January 2020).

A number of mobile phones and items of clothing were seized.

At the same time, police arrested a 24-year-old man in the vicinity of the unit following a short foot pursuit.

He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

The man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Wednesday 22 January 2020).
