NSW police arrest three teens over break and enter at Kiama

Three teens have been arrested over an alleged break and enter in the state’s south.

About 3am today (Wednesday 12 May 2021), police were called to a business on Manning Street, Kiama, following reports three juveniles were allegedly trying to gain access.

They were disturbed by staff, with one of the boys held until police arrived; two others fled on foot.

Officers attached to the Lake Illawarra Police District attended the scene and saw the two people running into the nearby train corridor.

Train services were suspended from 6am to 7.15am, between Kiama and Bombo, until the two boys were found in nearby bushland.

The 17-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, possess prohibited drug, and breach of bail.

One 13-year-old boy was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, custody of knife in public place, and breach of bail.

They will appear in a children’s court today (Wednesday 12 May 2021).

A third boy – also aged 13 – has been charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter in company, and granted bail to appear in a children’s court on Wednesday 7 July 2021.
