The driver of a car who crashed injuring five teenagers in Sydney’s south-west yesterday has been charged.
About 6am (Friday 16 September 2022), emergency services were called to Stoney Creek Road, Beverly Hills, following reports a Honda Accord had crashed into a pole.
Two female passengers – both aged 16 – were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in stable conditions.
Two male passengers – aged 15 and 16 – were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in stable conditions.
One male passenger has been released from the hospital as the three others remain under medical care.
The driver – an 18-year-old man – sustained minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing and treatment.
Today, (Saturday 17 September 2022), officers from the Crash Investigation Unit charged the driver with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm, cause bodily injury in charge of motor vehicle (x3), and drive whilst suspended.
The man was refused bail and will appear via a bedside hearing tomorrow (Sunday 18 September 2022).
